A few years ago, after my first cioppino experience, I decided that if I had a last meal here on earth, it would be a delicious bowl of Cioppino, chock-full of mouthwatering seafood. With a glass of Viognier (or shot of tequila…let’s be honest, it’s your last meal on earth, might as well go out with a bang).
As a birthday treat, my wonderful and thoughtful boyfriend, who knows this about me, treated me to a wonderful dinner at Tadich Grill (thanks to a recommendation from some of our friends). Arriving around 6:30, we were seated in a matter of minutes at a nice table by the window. I was surprised by how busy they got the longer we were there, especially for it being a Tuesday. (You can’t make reservations, so I would definitely recommend arriving a bit before 7/dinner crowd to avoid long waits).
Shortly after we were seated, our nice waiter took our order, I had a glass of Pinot Noir and my bf had a nice pint of Bass. After nibbling on some chewy french bread goodness, we both received our piping hot bowls of cioppino.
SO good. All of the seafood is fresh and tasty, and the tomato-based broth is seasoned to perfection. They give you two pieces of buttered garlic bread (that you use to soak up the delicious broth of course) as well as a much-needed bib and soup spoon. We had not a drop to spare by the end of the meal, it was that good.
It’s a great spot for both a small and large group. They have small tables for 2-4 people, but they also have large booths along one side as well as a long row of seats at the bar. Definitely a great place to with friends, out-of-towners or just your special someone.
