After a full day of drinking wine, the last thing you want to do is to go to a super fancy restaurant to drink super fancy wine, right?!
That’s why Mustards Grill is the ideal dinner plan. After wine tasting all day, we had dinner at Mustard’s Grill which is a very nice, yet casual restaurant with amazing food and great ambiance. My family and I were a little ‘wined out’ so upon our arrival we enjoyed a Salty Dog (vodka, grapefruit juice and a salt rim) which was incredibly refreshing. Once we were seated, our waitress was very understanding when we mentioned we would not be ordering any wine, which we found gracious, since we fully understand how wine plays in the overall tip of the bill.
Our waitress was wonderful. She was very accommodating in every way, when my dad’s calf’s liver came out a bit rare for his liking, she took it back graciously and then brought him a small appetizer to enjoy until his liver was done, which I thought was a lovely touch. I ordered the tostada of the day which included grilled swordfish, red cabbage, jicama, salsa and feta (delicious), my sister had the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and my mom had the fish of the day, grilled halibut with a plethora of vegetables. We also ordered the onion rings for an appetizer (definitely a must) as well as a side order of the cornbread sticks which were incredibly.
To finish we ordered the black and white parfait (not too exciting) and the lemon meringue… there are just no words for how good this piece of heaven was… the meringue was like no other I’ve ever had. As I stated at the restaurant, it was meringue on drugs, it was so flavorful and delicious, not just your run of the mill egg whites. Highly recommend if your a lemon-lover.
Overall, we had a wonderful evening here!
