About a week ago, my bf brought this wonderful infographic to my attention called Taste Buds. Willow Tyrer, www.doublevay.com/, who currently works for Penguin as an App Designer, was asked by David McCandless to help provide info-visualizations for his book Information is Beautiful. Taste Buds shows the compatibility of flavors in various food groups. I just thought the execution of this was so incredible yet so simple and easy to understand. This should definitely be a staple in every kitchen.
Below is the description of Taste Buds from the Information is Beautiful website :
“A Visualization of Complimentary Flavors by David McCandless and Willow Tyrer. All food tastes amazing, just sometimes not together. So we roved around 1000 recipes for common flavour patterns and visualized the results. A good way to build a meal, maybe, if you lack a chef’s intuitive buds. Less data visualization, more dinner visualization. An infoodgraphic, perhaps. Ok, we’ll stop now. These were created back in 2009 for the Information is Beautiful Book. Willow, a Swedish infographic designer, came up with an elegant, organic style. We thought it might be nice to release them into the wild. Enjoy your meal.”
Word of the Day : Infoodgraphic. Gotta love it.
